Mechanical Principles

  • Roll forging machine is a forging process that uses a pair of rotating fan-shaped dies to deform the billet and produce the desired forged part or billet.

  • During the process, the metal flows primarily along the length of the billet and experiences compressive deformation.

  • The essence of roll forging deformation is the process of elongation deformation of the billet under pressure

  • Roll forging is suitable for reducing the cross-sectional area of the billet, such as for elongating process of shaft-shaped components or reducing the thickness of plate billets.

  • Roll forging can be used in the primary forming process by making billets before other forging works or produce forged parts directly.

Forging Features

  • High precision, small surface roughness, and good quality.

  • The metal fiber is distributed according to the shape of the forging during the rolling process, quite different from cutting off, and the tissue is uniform with good mechanical properties.

  • Precision roll forging can avoid unfavorable factors such as cutting off or exposing the streamline. The continuous rotation of the roll forging has high production efficiency.

  • Long life of the forging dies due to a small relative sliding between the metal and the forging die.

  • Simple equipment structure, low requirements for the plant and foundation, The required equipment tonnage is small because of the gradual & continuous deformation process, and only a small part of contact between billets and forging dies.

  • Easy Operation without any impact, vibration which is easy to effect automation
